An ancient grape variety, historically indigenous to the Tortonese hills, Timorasso, now brought back to life by taking the name Derthona. Timorasso  is one of those wines that could be described as a “red dressed as white”, an overabused expression used to describe white wines with a particular and abundant structure. The area where the vine is cultivated in Piemonte borders Lombardy, Emilia and Liguria: the  Colli Tortonesi . Tasting notes The colour is intense straw yellow with greenish reflexes. The bouquet is reminiscent of exotic fruits, matured peers, hawthorn and acacia honey. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 5 stars. Ripe and expressive aromas leading to layered tropical and citrus fruits on the palate. Complemented by a long and fresh finish. WINEMAKER’S NOTES The fresh juice was settled after a gentle pressing for 48 hours. The majority of the juice was fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain freshness. The cool fermentation provided layers of flavour whilst retaining the fresh fruit characteristics that Sauvignon is famous for. A small portion was fermented in aged barrels to add texture and complexity. This wine was estate bottled.

Winemaker's Notes We hand picked and whole bunch pressed each block separately before vinifying as Individual lots. Fermentations were long and quite cool between 14 and 16 degrees. Judiciously selected noble Botrytis bunches were Included at between 5 and 10% of the overall fruit selection. Lots were blended together after five months on yeast lees, before estate bottling without fining. Lime blossom, peach and red apple on the nose with a long, flavoursome palate of honeydew, pink grapefruit and quince.

This Pinot Gris is a genuine people pleaser. A zippy, citrus-driven French style that’s fresh, textural, harmonious and lingers just long enough. Not too heavy, not too light, it’s the Goldilocks of the whites. Terrasse is a seamless, skilfully blended cuvée of Chenin Blanc with 54% Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier and Marsanne. Barrel-fermented and aged in older oak, it's floral, spicy and intense, marrying citrus, pear and clementine flavours and a touch of tannic grip. 2023-28. Wine Advocate 91 points. 2022 was an excellent follow on from the excellent 2021 vintage. This 2022 Killerman's Run Riesling is spritely, inchoate and so tightly coiled at this point that the acidity and the phenolics are seamlessly intertwined. Really great value here—pristine Riesling. A delicious off dry style from a cooler vintage for Central Otago. Whole bunch pressed, fermentation in a mixture stainless steel barrels and tanks, wild yeasts, no temperature control and aged on gross less for 3 months. Hand picked, racked to used oak for natural 10-day fermentation, the barrels topped and stirred for eight months. Sourced exclusively from the Lovedale vineyard, Elizabeth has been quintessential Hunter Valley Semillon since the early days.  No frills in the vinification: cool fermented for 14 days in stainless-steel tanks with cultivated yeast. Spent two months on lees before clarification and bottling. The fruit profile is the expected lime/lemon flavours, not so much the slinky acidity which makes it very much a now or later proposition – an outright bargain. 95 points. CHARACTERISTICS: Favorita  is one of the few typical white grapes from Piemonte. It is very similar to the Vermentino grape. Once Favorita was considered a table grape. WINERY NOTE: What started as a mishap has become our signature style. Years ago, our Pinot Gris spent some unplanned time on skins, resulting in a beautiful colour, and a richer texture. The Rustenberg Stellenbosch Chardonnay is traditionally barrel-fermented, and with juicy, peachy fruit and a combination of factors from the vineyard adding complexity, wild yeast and careful barrel age, it offers balance, expression and value in every vintage. Tasmania just keeps on punching out excellent and curiously different wines. Here is another. COLOUR Cloudy. A vibrant lemon colour with a hint of tropical gold. AROMA This is an exuberant, cloudy and lightly sparkling wine with aromas that leap out of the glass to delight the senses. Think bright passionfruit, rich lime peel and pea shoots alongside elegant nashi pear. PALATE The first sip of this wine brings concentrated passionfruit pulp and a moreish hit of ginger spice and kaffir lime. VITICULTURE These grapes are sourced from our neighbour’s vineyard at The Foundry’s home farm in Voor Paardeberg, and managed by Chris Williams. Grown on Malmesbury shale and decomposed granite, these trellised vines allow us to precisely manage the canopy to enhance fruit, complexity and balance. VINIFICATION Hand harvested and cooled overnight, this was whole-bunch pressed to restrain phenolics, yet was fermented with a high percentage of solids to give breadth and definition to the palate. 55% was fermented in seasoned tight-grain French oak Allier and Compiègne hogsheads and 45% of the wine in 500 and 1000...

A Rhône-inspired white blend of marsanne and roussanne from the Turkey Flat vineyards in Bethany and Stone Well; whole-bunch pressed with some skin contact and a portion aged in new oak. Pale straw with some intriguing struck flint and cordite notes layered above the juicy white peach, lemon and apple fruit base. Hints of nougat, toasted almonds, crème fraîche, white flowers and ginger complete the picture. Dry with a lovely textural component, a minerally acid line and excellent clarity on the finish. Excellent bone dry prosecco that ticks all the boxes. Pure fruit, excellent persistent bead, crisp acidity and clean, dry finish. DOCG quality through and through. Conegliano lies in the Valdobiaddene region of Veneto from which the very best of prosecco is sourced.. In terms of prestige in the hierarchy of prosecco it sits 2 rungs below the subregion of Cartizze (see Villa Sandi for our version).There are many other cheaper versions available in the market but for the few dollars more that the good stuff demands in price, there really is no point in skimping.
