The Reschke history and its close relationship with Coonawarra began in 1906 with the establishment of a prime Hereford stud in the heart of the region. It is this cattle grazing heritage that is reflected in the Reschke bull logo, and the names of the premium Reschke wines.
The ‘Reschke Special Reserve’ is a limited-release Cabernet Sauvignon that has been crafted specifically for friends and family of Reschke.
The fruit is sourced from a selection of our very best Estate Grown grapes in the heart of Coonawarra, resulting in the production of a truly exceptional wine.
This rich and fruit-driven parcel of hand-selected Cabernet fruit exhibits a deep ruby red colour alongside aromas of ripe-dark fruits. The palate presents flavours of mulberry, blackcurrant, and juicy plum complemented by hints of pepper spice. The wine provides a full-bodied structure that is beautifully balanced by silky tannins and excellent varietal characteristics – for that lasting impression.
"There is little doubt that this is a bit special. The grapes are the best the Estate offers, from their Henry Albert vineyard, planted in 1998 in Coonawarra. The wine spends 18 months in French oak hogsheads, before barrel selection determines the final wine. Dark, almost mysteriously so, this wine offers notes of mocha, chocolate, coffee beans, soy, florals and spices with fully integrated oak. This is balanced, intense and yet elegant. A wine with finesse. Silky tannins, exceptional length, the palate sees the emergence of violets and aniseed notes. This will provide pleasure for eight to fifteen years with ease. Drink: 2023 - 2038; Price: $75.00; Rating: 95 Points; Ken Gargett."
