Halliday Winemaker of the Year 2021. Andrew Caillard MW 95 points. Medium crimson. Intense musky plum, strawberry, herb garden aniseed. Lovely musky plum, strawberry, orange rind, aniseed flavours and fine loose knit chalky textures. Superb mid-palate volume and mineral length. A flourish of mataro (3%) and shiraz (2%) gives the wine complexity and torque. Absolutely delicious. Drink now - 2032 14 % alc 95 points. 95% Grenache, 3% Mataro, 2% Shiraz - Springton, Eden Valley. Single block planted in 1858. Soil: Granitic rock with quartz seams. Elevation: 395m. No fining, no filtration. 14.0% Alc. Tasting notes: Deep, powerful brambly red currant fruits. Tight, structural, powerful mid palate of voluminous garnet red fruits over wet stone and liquorice. Long tea leaf fine tannin finish. 773 bottles produced. #COMP No Fining, No Filtration.

 

95/3/2% grenache/mataro/grenache from the mighty Stonegarden vineyard, planted in 1858, just outside Sprinton in the Eden Valley. 100% whole bunches. Bright red purple in the glass with perfumed characters of red cherry, satsuma plum and dried cranberry. Hints of purple flowers, exotic spice, ginger cake, charcuterie, light amaro herbs and earth. Airy and spacious with a delightful floral plume in the mouth, pure fruit profile and fine, billowing tannins. 95 points.
