Halliday Winemaker of the Year 2021. Andrew Caillard MW 93 points. Medium deep crimson. Pure blackberry pastille, raspberry, strawberry, violet aromas with liquorice notes. Plentiful dark and red berry fruits, fine slinky/ velveteen tannins, some dark chocolate/ chinotto notes and fresh mineral acidity. A very youthful buoyant and expressive wine with ripe juicy fruit flavours and vigorous tannins. Will probably cellar for the medium to long term, but best as an early drinking wine. The Magnolia Shiraz is a single vineyard wine sourced from three small Shiraz blocks on our Magnolia Road Vineyard. All three blocks were grown on deep alluvial granitic sands at an elevation ranging between 305 and 330 metres. The blocks are farmed organically and the grapes handpicked as with all the Eperosa fruit. Aromas of bright boysenberry, cherry-cola sitting alongside deeper fruits of blackberries mulberry and cream. A palate of dark fresh blackberries with a beautifully balanced cola and mineral line that flows to graphite fine tannins. A classic version of our Magnolia Shiraz that is highly aromatic along with lovely fruit and tannin structure.
