Variety: those that best express the potential of the vintage. This year it was Trebbiano, Grechetto and chardonnay. First vintage production: 2012 System of growing: Guyot with a density of 6000-9000 plants ha. Extraordinary long persistance Serving suggestions: perfect match for special occasions. Excellent pairings with fish, white meat and white truffle. Best served around 50 ̊F Aging potential: 6-8 years.
Wine Advocate general notes: No grape varieties are declared in the Cuvée Secrète because the idea is to use the fruit that works best in each vintage that this secretive white wine is produced. Knowing that Marco Caprai produces Grechetto, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, I can assume that some of all those grapes might be used here. This is a fragrant and radiant wine (that sees six months in oak), revealing citrus, melon and orchard fruit. There is some green spice, aniseed and crushed stone on the finish. I've always admired Marco Caprai's white wine program. Monica Larner.
